This portfolio highlights the best of Tariq’s work as a student under Dr. Huatong Sun’s guidance in the Fall 2009 Visual Rhetoric & Design course, as well as his other works, which he had completed prior to or concurrently with the Digital Rhetoric & Design course.

I learned to use Adobe’s InDesign CS4 software during the beginning of the course, which was focused on magazine design.  Learning how to manipulate colors, graphics, and text while paying close attention to following the principles of Emphasis, Contrast, Balance, Alignment, Repetition, and Flow.

In the latter half of the course, I had learned the basics of Dreamweaver CS4, Adobe’s premier website editing software.  We learned on a fundamental level the differences between print design and online “web” design.  Because of this course, I now understand what my audience looks for when they access my webpage.
